What is bada?

bada, the word comes from Korean word “ocean”. bada is not an operating system, it is a smartphone platform with a kernel configurable architecture which allows the use of either the Linux kernel, or another Real-time operating system (RTOS) kernel which makes bada platform applicable to a wider range of devices than any other mobile operating system. The Linux kernel is the preferred choice for smartphones, while RTOS is used for cheaper feature phones, due to its smaller memory footprint.

Apart from that, support for Adobe Flash, web browser control, sensors such as acceleration, magnetic, tilt, GPS, and proximity sensors , fine-tuned vibration control, and face detection can be found in the SDK. The bada platform also brings support for service-centric features such as social networks, location -based services, content management, and e-commerce services, all supported by back-end bada servers.
